Nordvrede was originally formed in 2004 as a 2-man project, consisting of Guderian (artillery) and Nekrosoldat (guitar). Later, when the band achieved full ranks, most of the material for the demo was ready, and within a few intense months, we felt ready doing a recording in studio.
The intention with the band is to create music which reflects our patriotism and feelings around our part of the country, the Northern part of Norway. All of us feels very strongly about the wilderness, the majestic, unaffected and pure nature that surrounds us. Fascination of war, the way it brings forth the most intense desire of desecrating other human beings, the ill-natured spirit of the human race that grows so strong and gives us the compatibility of performing the most appailing acts to brothers in race...The fact that we are the most negligent species among all living creatures, is very central concerning the lyrical aspect. We also reflect around sexual assault and definately anti-christian values.

02. What means Nordvrede? How would you describe your music?

Translated into english, Nordvrede means Northern Wrath.
Our musical expression is black metal as we know it. We're not here to make revolutionary music in any way. What we create, is a result of who we are. Nordvrede plays without keyboard.

03. I know that last year you released your first demo, "Northern Frontlines". Please tell us more about it.

As mentioned earlier, Guderian and Nekrosoldat had all the raw material ready before the rest of us joined the band. As soon as I moved back to my hometown in january 2006, we started working on the material for real, and during those months with rehearsal, we found our style of expression. On the other hand, we didn't rehearse with Iskrig (vocalist) until the same weekend as we were recording. This because of the fact that Iskrig is living in another city in Northern Norway. We sent him recordings from our rehearsals which he used for arranging the vocal, so when it was time to enter the studio, everything was all set.
In studio, we had only one afternoon available, so we recorded all the tracks live and mixed it the same night. Actually, there should have been two more tracks, but because of the lack of time, we couldn't go through with more than the five which are available on the demo.
So what you hear on the demo is what you can expect from us on stage. No bungling and fucking around in the studio.

04. How did the recordings go, the songs came out easily? Where did you record it?

There were no problems during the recording. We only had to do one track over again, and that was because of some problems with the equipment. The recording took place in a studio called L.K. Studio.

05. What means the title, "Northern Frontlines"?

The title itself represents many things. But the main factor in the title is written in the words.

06. Are you working on a new material? If you do, when will it be released?

We have lots of material, but nothing has been done yet because of Guderians situation. He's in western Norway taking education in the naval academy, but as soon as he returns in the end of this summer, we will start working again immediately. Our new release will come when we feel ready for it.

07. Do you have a contract with a label?

We have no contract. There has been some labels showing their interest, but we've decided to wait. We know where we'll sign if we get the opportunity.

08. What bands have inspired you?

My biggest personal influence are bands like Hate Forest and Bathory. We all share the same dedication to many bands. Guderian and Nekrosoldat appreciates and takes notice of the works of artists like Satanic Warmaster, Urgehal and Behexen. Iskrig highly values the work of bands like Sigrblot, Arckanum and Drudkh.

09. Is there any chance to see Nordvrede here in Romania in the near future?

If someone gives us a decent offer, we might say yes of course.
